Commonly Asked Questions

1. How many treatments are needed?

With the advanced technology of the Soprano ICE Platinum, you typically only need 3-4 treatments to have 95%-97% permanent hair reduction! *This can be altered based on hormones, hair thickness, the area treated and your hair’s growth cycle, etc*

2. How long does each treatment take?

The length of time per session varies depending on the body part being treated. The Soprano Ice Platinum Laser Hair Removal sessions are super-quick, even for large areas such as the legs or back.

3. Is there any downtime after the treatment?

There is no downtime after the treatment but you should avoid exercising and heat exposure for 48 hours so the heat trapped in your skin from laser hair removal can exit naturally. You may experience some redness and your skin may feel like its slightly sunburned for a few days.

4. Why do I need more than 1 treatment?

Hair follicles grow in cycles. In order to effectively target the hair, the follicle must be in the "Anagen" growth phase. The reason why multiple treatments are required is because not all of the follicles are in the "Anagen" phase at the same time. This is why it is recommended to follow the hair growth phase timeline and come in for your laser hair removal treatments as per your plan.

Hormonal changes play a large part in hair growth. Therefore, women who are experiencing menopause, taking hormone replacement medications, or who have recently changed their birth control pill may notice hair growth.

5.  Can I pluck, tweeze or wax in between treatments?

No, in order to effectively target the hair, the hair must be in the follicle. Thus, shaving is the only recommended hair removal method between laser treatments. You will notice that as the sessions progress, you may not need to shave at all between sessions as there is little to no hair growth.

Pre-Care Instructions

  • Hair should be cleanly shaven.

  • Do not wear makeup on the treated area on the day of treatment.

  • No sun-tanning or self-tanners 4 weeks before treatment.

  • No waxing, plucking or tweezing at least 2 weeks before treatment.

    • Some body parts may require a longer wait time.

  • Avoid skin irritants (examples below) a few days post-treatment.

    • Products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc.

  • Do not wax or pluck between treatments.

  • Notify clinic of any concerns (blistering, excessive redness/swelling, etc.)

  • Laser hair removal requires a series of treatments. The number of treatments depends on body location, type of hair, hormones, etc.

  • Consult with clinic about when to resume skin care regime.
